Cockatiel Kumo

I never dream that I would have a cockatiel.  I had never even thought of it or seen a bird so beautiful before.  But on 10 May 2025, a Saturday, I had to go to work because the workplace, mft got an event there.  The event was Vesak Day Event, a day of prayers, bathing of buddha and transference of light.  The event will start at 630pm, work starts at 6pm and I began walking there before 530pm.  

As I was walking between the blocks of flats at the linkage shelter, I saw a beautiful bird on the floor.  People were walking and no one seem to care about the bird.  I thought that the bird belongs to somebody.  But it was so beautiful, I did not want to miss the beautiful moment, I quickly take photo of it.  It still stay there.  So I took video of it.  It still never fly off.  Then I stretched out my hand and surprisingly, it hopped onto my hand.  Thereafter, I had a thought of bringing it home.  

On the way home, it never fly off either.  I had the bird put at home and asked Isaac to take good care of it while I went to work.  After work, the bird was still at home.  We searched online on information about this beautiful bird and came to know that it was an expensive bird that cost about $200 and it came from Australia.  

We decided to keep it as a pet after some thoughts.  The next day after church, I went to buy the cage and food for him.  It was so nice to see him able to enjoy eating the food that we gave him.  He was able to drink water and even sing songs too.  What a wonderful bird it was.  Isaac thought of a name for him, which was Kumo, in Japan means cloud.  

Everyday we let him out of the cage to enjoy some freedom.  He loves to go to our shoulders.  However with him around, Taco was too scared, he began to go into hiding and often stay in the kitchen.  When I was at work, I would come back during lunch time to take a look at them.  

Anyway, last week, on 17 May 2025, we lost Kumo.  Isaac was bathing and he put Kumo in the bathroom.  When he sneezed, Kumo was scared and he flew out of the window.  That was the last time we had him.  We went out to search for him but we was not able to find him anymore.  We had him for 7days and it was good.

Happy Mother's Day

I went to church on 6 April 2025, my first step into the church after its renovation.  My official first mass there.  I went to confession and told the priest I am divorce and he told me I had no sin in this.  I am so relieved.  I am able to receive holy communion again.  

Ever since I started going back to church, beautiful things happened.  It must be God feeling happy for me to go back to church.  My garden has sunbirds flying and chirping.  They came to make nest again.  I had a bird nest outside in my garden now.  I feel so happy.

It was a good month of Happy Mother's Day.  I celebrated with my mother too.  I treated her to Pin Wei Seafood Village for a dinner.  This is indeed a blissful life.

Everytime I cycled passed the church, I would look at it.  I had not been to the church for many years.  I had not stepped into the church after the renovation.  I think I miss the church.  On 18 March 2024, I saw the banner : Come Back To Me.  It is like God telling me to go back to him.  Then on 28 May I passed by again and I see the signboard "Come And Find Peace", it reminded me of last time I went to church with the family.  

January 2024, I had dry mouth.  I prayed to Mother Mary because at the workplace one day, the hymn of Lourdes prayer.  I was not aware of the title of the hymn but I went home to search for it and then I know about it.

Now then I know this is Our Lady of Lourdes.  And I know that the hymn which originated from my heart is Our Lourdes Prayer.  Now my dry mouth had improved.  Last year, it was totally no saliva.  And when the 'music' came, in the evening, the saliva just come and it feel so good to have saliva.

Now I had already gone back to church...  

St Joseph Church

Yesterday was the feast day of St Joseph at Bukit Timah.  The church celebrated her 179th year.  There are so much changes over the years... the bare grounds where Richard and I had sat to take photograph many years back, had now transformed into beautiful objects.  I had missed mass for so long.  The last time I went to St Joseph Church for mass was 15 years ago.  Yesterday we met at woodlands bus interchange at 8am.  We intend to take bus 961 to the church.  At the bus interchange, we could not find the berth for 961.  Later we realized that it was at the old bus interchange, and on Sunday, we would only take 961M.  

The bus journey took approximately 50min and after alighting we need to walk a short distance to reach the church entrance.  It was so nice to be able to come to this church again.  I had mass with my sister and brother-in-law at 930am.  It was so good to have companionship to have people to attend mass with me. 

When we reached the church, we walked around the church and went to Chapel of Resurrection to visit our departed loved ones there.  We took so many photographs and we bought things from the booth.  My sister paid $2 to do a henna on her hand.

Before the mass started, we went to sit down earlier.  We got our seat near the choir.  The mass started at 930am sharp, and throughout the mass whenever hymns were sung, the songs and music were wonderful, loud and clear.  We loved it so much.  

After the church, we went to Bukit Timah to buy lunch (frog legs).
