St Anthony Church

Photo of St Anthony Church from far

I took the above picture and the pictures below yesterday.  I wanted to show the present now as compared to the St Anthony of several years back. The signage had been changed also but the words remains the same.  It read: Church of St Anthony: God Knows Your Past and He Offers You A Future

I have stayed in Woodlands for close to 30years.  Over the years I had seen the changes to the church -- the priests, the premises and the eucharistic celebrations.  In the early years the priests were Father John Khoo and Father Eugene Chong.  Now Father Eugene is back.  After that it was Father Vincent Chee, Father Terence and Father Cyril.  Next, it was Father Andrew, Father Gerard, Father John Lau... and now Father Ignatius.

I am very happy with the present church.  In the past, the speaker was not so good, I could not really hear the homily well from the back of the church.  Now the speaker is good, the priest speak audibly well, loud and clear.  I love to listen to their homily.

This is the church where Richard had his baptism and confirmation.  Last time it was RCIA.  My 3 children had their baptism in this church also.  They attended catechism classes here, received their First Holy Communion but never finished confirmation.

Dreams

I am getting old.  I used to remember my dreams when I was young.  Sometimes the dreams lingered on and it affected me.  My mood and thinking was influenced as a result.  I asked my husband whether he had any dreams.  He said, "I don't dream.".

Nowadays I don't usually remember my dreams.  However, today I was so inspired to 'write' as I have a strange dream.

I was good at Science and Maths, but poor in languages.  So naturally my history was poor also.  I can still remember I scored a fail mark of 29% in secondary school for history.  That was the lowest in the class.  So I never like history.  I never know anything about world history because it was not in our syllables.  I never read up on them too.  I was not really interested in Geography too, though my score for Geography was okay.

Today my dream was about world map!  I dream of my mother, Clara and Ricsson and of course, me.  We had planned to go on a holiday to Palestine!  However, we had not planned thoroughly, which day to go and for how many days, all the itineraries and so on.  On my mind there were calendars, views of dates to block for the holidays, but the next moment, we are at Palestine!  It was so sudden until I raised it up and said why everything was so rush.

At that point, we were almost at Palestine.  I was told it was an island, and Egypt was in it.  Just like we are at Hong Kong and going to Macau.  So we were at a place called Tatagor or something like that.  Over there, there were shopping and it was like a super big supermarket.  We were walking around and later on we lost sight of my mother.  She had wandered off.  We panicked because it was a foreign land.  We tried searching for her.  We even flew back to Singapore to find her.  Someone suggested calling her.  It was IDD call.  Finally we got her and she was fine with the locals.  It was the Palestinians.  But we were still worried.  So we flew back to Palestine, the place were we had stopped.

The dream shifted.  When we reached there, it was Father Terence at the table.  I can't really remember who was at the table.  But obviously I was talking to those on the table and Father Terence.  The details of the conversation was not remembered, but it was something related to looking for my mother.

When I woke up, the first thing that come to my mind was "Is Egypt really in Palestine?"  Despite searching for the internet, I had vague idea of it.  I don't know why I had this dream.  If you can interpret dreams, maybe you can leave a comment, or if you are familiar with Geography, you can tell me if this dream is true: Egypt is in Palestine.

Thank you in advance.  May God Bless you.

(A short note about the children and my mother.  They were young, not the current selves. )
