Beautiful Woodlands

Two days ago, I was cycling along Woodlands towards Admiralty at night.  Then I saw the lightings over at Admiralty.  I already knew about the event, the 'Pasar Malam' at Admiralty some time ago, but that was in the day time that I used to pass by every time.  However, two days ago, it was the first time at night that I cycled over to Admiralty, and I saw the beautiful lightings.  I didn't know that Woodlands can be so beautiful!

 I only know that at Fu Shan Garden, there are beautiful lights at the stonehedge.  I think the MPs are doing a good job at our neighbourhood.  In this Hari Raya Puasa season, I registered for Ramadan Belanja A Meal and I got free meals for my family.  This year, I also applied for another event which is Back To School or something like that, got freebies like water bottle, school bag and cash for Isaac.  Many people in Woodlands love our MP, Mariam Jaafar so much.  She really organize so many activities and really help the neighbourhood a lot during these times where living expenses are so high.

Mazer Wall Charger (100W) purchased recently

My old wall charger is more than 5 years old already and it is 36W.  The brand of my old charger is Ugreen.  I had purchased a new charger that is White in colour as shown above, Mazer Wall Charger.  I like the colour so much.  Not only is it so nice, it can charge my phone at a faster rate too.  Whenever I charge my phone it will appear 'super fast charging'.  With the old wall Ugreen charger, it will read 'fast charging'.

My Seven Stars Needle Plant or Rose Cactus Plant

Gardening is my hobby.  Every day when I walk to my garden and see flowers at my plants, I feel so happy.  Besides the above Seven Stars Needle Plant, I also have curry leaves plant (Murraya koenigii), money plant, Mexican petunia or Ruellia simplex, ferns (Nephrolepis exaltata), Money plant (Epipremnum Aureum), Basket/ Corn plant (Dracaena fragrans), Arrowhead (Syngonium Prodophyllum), Mother of thousands or Mexican hat plant (Bryophyllum daigremontianum), Water Jasmine (Wrightia Religiosa), Plyscias Balfouriana, Oyster plant (Tradescantia spathacea), bougainvillea, chilli plant, butterfly pea plant, Papaya plant, clover (Oxalis corniculata), cactus, cotton plant and Adenium obesum (福贵花).

Recently I sold some plants and this give me more motivation to grow and propagate more plants.  I bought lots of soil from Shopee and Lazada.  When the buyer wanted to buy my plants, I gave them the good nice ones.  If they are not so healthy, I gave them a cheaper rate.  When I sell them my plants, I gave them pots with so much soil as compared to the nurseries, where they gave half pot of soil or sometimes three quarter of soil.

Good soil is so important for the plants.  It gave them the good nutrients to thrive in the environment.  So when the soil I ordered came, I need to mix the soil before repotting my plants.

I mostly do my gardening at night, where it would be not too hot.  At night the plants would not lose much water content too.  

If you want to buy soil in bulk, Shopee is selling a bundle of 3 at $13, a bundle of 5 at $25.  These prices are for the potting soil on the above photograph.  Yesterday I ordered 10 packets of  potting soil from Shopee!  As for the other photograph of the garden soil, Shopee is selling at 1 packet $6.80 (5 Litres).  There are so many varieties of medium you can used for your plants at Shopee.  Buying in bulk saves money and you do not need to carry them too.  

My Yam Plant

On 17 March 2024, I went to this house to take the yam plant.  The owner gave up on this plant.  From a plant with several foliage, its leaves were by then left with only two.  So I took over the plant.  I pushed my trolley there and collected it at Khatib.  I was very careful when placing it in my trolley because I do not want to destroy the leaf.  The owner had told me that she bought this Yam plant last year only and it was just like that as seen in the photograph above.  She did not do anything to the Yam plant.

Back home, I discovered that the blue pot that the person had planted the Yam plant was with no hole.  The soil doesn't look good too.  So I decided to repot the Yam plant to a pot with hole.  This is to make sure that water can drain well and there would not be any water trapped in the pot, making the pot too wet for the Yam plant.  When I dig out all the soil from the Yam plant, I saw so many pieces of torn styrofoam on the bottom of the pot.  There were water on the base of the pot too.  

So I carefully took out the Yam plant and at the same time, I mix my soil with the soil from the Yam plant.  Last night, I posted on Instagram about my Yam plant.  The picture below shows the photograph of the Yam plant from yesterday.

Today I was so surprise to see the Yam plant has changed so much!  The leaves had grown bigger and there are altogether 5 leaves now!  I am so happy to see that I had successfully changed the fate of this Yam plant.
